Rules & Regulations

**DISCLAIMER** Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show/Wild Rose Show Series/WRVHS (and respective names/parties), is a virtual schooling show and is not affiliated with any sanctioned event or group. WRVHS is solely meant for educational experiences for horses and riders to practice and learn competition practices in preparation for live in person sanctioned events/competitions. Riders/Owners/Exhibitors/Handlers/Respective Persons must follow the rules of their provincial, territorial or country’s governing body. All payments MUST be received before entries are submitted. Failure to do so will result in entry not being valid or accepted. If videos are not submitted by the class/show deadline/close date NO REFUNDS will be given.

Any video entries that would like to be sent in privately, please submit via private entry on our website or send via email.

 

When entries are sent in via public file upload through our website or via private submission or email please title them as follows:
 

First Name, Last Name – (Name of discipline/Test/Arena Type/Class Height/Level)

– Horse's Name – Date (Month/Year)

Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications.

STATEMENT OF PRINCIPLE

Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show/Wild Rose Show Series (herein known as “WRVHS”), supports adherence to humane treatment of horses in all activities.

WRVHS is committed to:

  • Upholding the welfare of the horses, regardless of value, as a primary consideration in all activities;

  • Requiring that horses be treated with kindness, respect and the compassion that they deserve, and that they never be subjected to mistreatment;

  • Ensuring that owners, trainers and exhibitors or their agents use responsible care in the handling, treatment of their horses as well as horses placed in their care for any purpose;

  • Providing for the continuous well-being of horses by encouraging routine inspection and consultation with health care professionals to achieve the highest possible standards of nutrition, health, comfort and safety as a matter of standard operating procedure;

  • Continuing to support scientific studies on equine health and welfare;

  • Increasing education in training and horsemanship practices;

  • Requiring owners, trainers and exhibitors to know and follow their areas sanctioning organization’s rules, and to work within industry regulations in all equestrian competition;

  • Reviewing, revising and developing competition rules and regulations that protect the welfare of the horses.

  • The standard by which conduct or treatment will be measured is that which a person, informed and experienced in generally accepted equine training and exhibition procedures, would determine to be neither cruel, abusive, nor inhumane.

 

The management reserves the right to decide any point not covered in the rules and to correct any error or make any alterations that may be necessary in the prizelists and rules & regulations. The provincial/territorial/country's equine governing body of the rider's area will be followed. The rules and regulations outlined by WRVHS will also be followed.

 

GENERAL RULES & INFORMATION

1. The management reserves the right to cancel or combine any class not filled to satisfaction; whereupon exhibitors will be notified as soon as possible after close of entries.

2. Inhumane treatment of a horse will not be tolerated. Violation of this rule, at the discretion of the organization committee, will result in disqualification and forfeiture of fees, all winnings and loss of entry.

 3. Exhibitors are warned that any act of discourtesy or disobedience to the managers of WRVHS or any other participants, on the part of the owner, handler or rider, will disqualify the horse, and result in forfeiture of entry fees for subsequent classes. Management reserves the right to remove a handler/ rider and/ or horse from the show, without being liable for compensation.

4. Any decisions made by judges of WRVHS are final. No judge shall be contacted regarding any decision or feedback of classes/tests. Riders/handlers/owners must contact WRVHS regarding any discrepancies or dis-agreeances with judging and an agreement will be settled. Penalty for disobeying this rule will be disqualification from the show in its entirety and possible ban from entering again if it is a recurring issue.

5. WRVHS is not responsible for any injuries that occur during the time of filming or riding for a class. Each person is responsible for themselves and takes liability for any accidents or personal expenses incurred by the injured party in the event of an injury. WRVHS will not be liable for any of these circumstances. In entering the show riders/owners/handlers and respective parties agree to these rules and regulations and accept these terms and liability. Any persons under the age of 13 must have a parent/guardian sign up/submit on their behalf. In doing this the parent/guardian accepts these terms and all liabilities involved with the persons under the age.

6. There may be other riders/people in the area/arena for the purpose of groups/lessons filming. But ensure these other riders and people will not block the view of the video and that they are not a hazard or risk. We ask that there are no pets, kids, added distractions ect. in the arena while you are riding. Please review our video requirements in our FAQ or contact us.

7. If competitors are not suitably dressed, or are deemed to have unsafe or unacceptable tack is used, the judge, or any admin of WRVHS may refuse to accept their entry; and all entry fees and prize monies will not be refunded if entry is not accepted. WRVHS recommends are competitors follow the rules & guidelines regarding dress and tack of their provincial/territorial/country's equine governing body.

8.  Horses under the age of 3 may not compete in any ridden class. Horses under the age of 3 may be shown in any In-Hand classes. (ie. Showmanship, In-Hand Trail ect.) Riding any horse under the age of two in the show will result in disqualification.

HARD HATS, SAFETY GEAR AND ATTIRE

1. All competitors, in English discipline classes, including foreign competitors, must wear ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) or BSI approved helmets, with safety harness correctly fastened, at ALL times while mounted and in in-hand classes.

2. Western competitors OVER the age of 18 years old, are permitted to wear a cowboy hat while mounted or competing. But WRVHS HIGHLY recommends ALL riders including western competitors to wear an ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) or BSI approved helmets, with safety harness correctly fastened. If a competitor chooses not to wear a helmet, they take the liability and responsibility of not wearing one. In purchasing and entering the show riders/owners/handlers and respective parties agree to these rules and regulations and accept these terms and liability.

3. Juniors UNDER the age of 18 showing any horse in any class English or Western, both ridden and in-hand, MUST wear an ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) or BSI approved helmet, with safety harness correctly fastened at all times.

4. Failure to comply with points 1,2, and 3 above will result in the following penalties:

a) 1st violation: Warning

b) 2nd violation: Disqualification from the schooling competition and forfeiture of all fees and prize monies

 

WRVHS makes no representation or warranty, expressed or implied, about any approved protective headgear. WRVHS cautions riders that serious injury or death may result despite wearing such headgear, as all equestrian sports involve inherent risk, and no protective headgear can protect against all foreseeable injury.

 

Riders/owners/respective persons should follow the rules and regulations of their provincial/territorial/country's equine governing body regarding attire and tack rules and regulations.

 

REFUNDS

Exhibitors cancelling their entries after the official closing date, shall, upon presentation of a valid veterinary certificate, 50% of entries will be refunded. After the closing date Non-veterinarian scratches will NOT be refunded. Substitutions of horses/riders will be permitted prior to the close date of the show/class. After the close date of the class/show no substitutions of horse/rider will be allowed and NO refunds will be given.

 

Once an Entry is paid and accepted by us in full there are NO REFUNDS. Exhibitors are expected to submit their video BEFORE the closing date of the show/class. Entries paid for but no video submitted by the class/show closing date/deadline are NON-REFUNDABLE. Or if the wrong video is submitted by the closing date/deadline the entry will be disqualified and NO REFUND will be given.

 

If a video does not meet the requirements and is then denied by judges, there will be NO REFUND. Please ensure your video meets all the expectations and requirements before submitting.

 

In rare and unforeseen circumstances refunds will be dealt with as per individual situation. Please Contact Us if need be.

Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show reserves the right to refuse any entry without stating a reason at anytime. Policies, procedures, and prices are subject to change without notice.

 

ENTRIES

1. Entries for WRVHS must be purchased and videos submitted before the cut off date listed. If videos are not submitted on time all paid fees are non-refundable and forfeited. Entries must be purchased as individual classes or as division entry prior to submitting video(s).

2. All competitors will be required to have purchased the class entry before any videos will be accepted. Failure to do this will result in your video not being accepted for judging.

3. In purchasing and submitting an entry all riders/owners/respective persons agree to the terms and conditions of the show including liability and rules.

4. Late entries may be accepted up to the judging of the classes, subject to the approval of WRVHS management and must be accompanied with the purchase of a $50.00 late fee.

5. Substitutions and Transfer of entries.

All changes to any classes must be made no later than 1 day before the submission close date. Late and same day changes will be charged $10.00 per class. Any Exhibitor who does not submit videos for a class(es) on time of the official judging, in which the exhibitor is officially entered will not be refunded for the class(es).

6. Exhibitors cancelling their entries after the official closing date, but prior to the start of the show shall, upon presentation of a valid veterinary certificate, but will be refunded 50% of their entry fees. Substitutions of horses/riders will be permitted, WRVHS must be notified of the changes prior to the closing date.

7. The management reserves the right to limit entries in any class/division and to refuse or decline any entry without being liable for compensation or damages.

8. The management reserves the right to cancel or combine any class not filled to satisfaction; whereupon exhibitors will be notified as soon as possible after close of entries.

9. Any Junior/minor /exhibitor/owner under the age of 13 wishing to enter, a parent/guardian must purchase and submit on their behalf. The parent/guardian accepts all the terms and conditions of WRVHS and lability, and they are entitled as Person Responsible.

Parents/guardians agree to abide by the rules and penalties contained in the Rule Book, prizelists, terms and conditions and acknowledge that they are liable under the penalty or violations of themselves or the junior/minor/exhibitor/owner/respective persons.

 

TROPHIES, RIBBONS AND PRIZE MONEY

1. Ribbons will be given to sixth place in all classes or unless otherwise specified.

2. Prize money (If applicable for the class; this will be noted in the class purchase of entry) will be divided as follows unless otherwise specified:

a. First=40%, Second=32%, Third=17%, Fourth=11%

3. Points for championship high points shall be awarded on the following basis:

1st (7 points), 2nd (5 points), 3rd (4 points), 4th (3 points),

5th (2 points). All entries, will be listed on a high point tracking sheet that will be continuously updated and available for members to view anytime.

4. Championship High Point: The Champion and Reserve Champion titles shall be awarded to the two horses that have accumulated the most points in all classes entered combined. In the case of a tie for the Champion/Reserve, the last class of the division will be used to determine the winner. If there has been a tie in the last class it will be the next previous class, and so on, that will determine a final high point winner.

5. High point awards will currently be awarded every 6 months. In June 2024 and December 2024. High-point awards will be awarded to each Champion and Reserve Champion in each discipline. (Stay tuned for updates/changes to this. If there are several competitors and WRVHS deems fit, more high-point awards will be awarded. Members will be notified of any of these changes.

6. All small awards/packages (such as ribbons) will be shipped for free canada wide. For larger awards/packages members will be contacted first to determine shipping and costs (if there will be any) and to come to an arrangement prior to any prizes/awards being sent.

7. High-Point awards may consist of Blankets, Coolers, Saddle Pads, Halters, Belt Buckles and more. What the awards are will be listed closer to the awarding of high-point awards. Members will be notified of this. Awards and prizes may change at any time.

8. To be eligible for high-point awards each rider must compete in a minimum of 6 classes within a 6 month period.

9. Currently high-point awards will be awarded by discipline. For example there will be a Champion and Reserve Champion in the Show Jumping/Barrel Racing ect. regardless of the height/division/class/level ect. If WRVHS deems there are to many riders, then more Champion and Reserve Champion awards will be given and the point system will thus be broken down further into class level categories. Members will be made aware of this change if it were to occur. 

 

LIABILITY WAIVER

Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show/Wild Rose Show Series/WRVHS (and its respective names)., nor the owners, management, tournament committee, nor any of its staff or agents shall in any way be liable for any accident, injury, damage, loss or for any other matter that may happen to exhibitors, competitors, owners, or members of their families, or their agents or to anyone on the grounds, or for any other loss, claim, matter, circumstances or event whatever, in connection with or arising out of, or attributable to, the to the show or any journey or process to complete the classes/videos. It is understood that under no circumstances, shall Wild Rose Virtual Horse Show/Wild Rose Show Series/WRVHS (and its respective names)., nor the owners, management, tournament committee, nor any of its staff or agents be liable for any loss, damages, claims or costs as a result of
